The King of God’s Own Country
The king of Kerala. And I am not talking about King Mahabali. Yes, Mahabali did have a brief stint of fame the past few weeks with Onam celebrations. But I am referring to the perennially undisputed king of Malayalam cinema - our very own Mohanlal or ‘nammude swantham Lalettan’.

Ok, so I have always favoured Mohanlal over Mammootty. Though some might beg to differ. So when Barnaby wrote a NRI article comparing the two actors (an unforgivable sin in itself), it was time to take sides for most of us. And predictably enough I rose to the bait and decided to counter-attack with an article on Lalettan.
It’s interesting to see how fans from both sides have reacted to the article. A must-read for all the Mollywood fans out there :

An intersting read for an outsider who knows nothing about either Mohanlal or Mammootty.
Prateek, Mollywood must appear half-crazy to you eh?:)
Naah, you should see some of our Punjabi movies.
I think I can excuse myself on this topic. I don’t know anything about Mollywood yeah but I know Mohanlal as some big name in Kerala films.
Ya you would need to know Mal movies to truly appreciate Mohanlal
hey i loved this post too
, bcoz i was a die hard fan of lalettan, specially after seeing his movies as minnaram, bharatham,yodaha-ever fav, sukhamo devi etc; was happy to c him in a new avtar with 6aam thamburan, but got heart attack with movies as naran ,narasimham & the latest ‘college kumaran’. now i just prefer watching dileep movies. but still if some1 try comparing lal with mamooty, even i start arguing for lalettan
he he LOL at “comparing the two actors (an unforgivable sin in itself), it was time to take sides for most of us.”
